Beyond Specifications: Unlocking Fuel Efficiency

Flat viscosity engine oils are emerging as an important advancement for plug‑in hybrid vehicles, offering more stable low‑temperature performance that reduces friction and improves fuel economy. This article highlights new JASO GLV‑2 specifications and results from a BYD Qin Plus DM‑i fleet study, in which flat-viscosity oil delivered strong wear protection, maintained viscosity over 12,000 km, and improved fuel efficiency by 19%. These findings show that advanced flat viscosity formulations can enhance hybrid performance without compromising engine durability.
