Afton Proudly Sponsors F+L Week Conference

June 14-16, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

We are excited to announce that Mr. Liang Ke Jian, Technology Director for Afton Chemical Asia, will present ‘Navigating the ILSAC GF-7 Transition’ at the upcoming F+L conference. The International Lubricants Standardization and Approval Committee (ILSAC) has officially requested the American Petroleum Institute (API) to develop a new gasoline engine oil specification, which is expected to supersede the current ILSAC GF-6 specification and continue to address increasing environmental legislation.

There are ongoing efforts in the industry to support the timely introduction of new specifications in a sustainable manner while delivering benefits in key performance areas and consumer value. However, several other factors that must be considered as the lubricants industry looks to the future, such as:
  • Incorporation of new performance areas and the impact on the overall technology approach
  • Performance test development and maintenance through category
  • The growth of low-viscosity lubricant requirements
  • The global nature of passenger car lubricants and the practical implications in regional markets
This presentation will discuss the emerging challenges that the industry may face and how our technology can help our customers deliver ILSAC GF-7 on schedule.

F+L Week 2023 provides a global platform to present the latest trends and issues on transport fuels, lubricants, base oils, and additives. This year’s event will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with the conference theme: "Fuels and Lubricants: Navigating the Energy Transition".
