Total Base Number: How low can YOU go
TBN (Total Base Number) has remained unchanged in many lubricants and users are failing to realize that higher levels are no longer required in an engine oil due to fuel sulphur levels now being significantly lower in many areas of the world. Creating a successful engine oil formulation requires balance, expertise and an accurate assessment of conditions.
