Application

HiTEC® 11183 is a new, upgraded additive technology to meet the combined performance requirements of both the ILSAC GF-6 specification and the new GM dexos™1 Gen 3 approval. HiTEC® 11183 is an enhanced version of HiTEC® 11180, which comfortably exceeded the demands of the ILSAC GF-6 specification and provided market leading engine protection for the latest turbo-charged gasoline direct injection (TGDi) engine designs.

HiTEC® 11183 maintains that standard and is specifically designed to meet the more stringent demands of the new GM dexos™1 Gen 3 specification for superior premium grade application. The new specification is the most demanding variant of dexos™1, with new GM performance tests in terms of pre-ignition control and vehicle fuel economy, but also additional demands for engine cleanliness and wear that exceed the ILSAC GF-6 requirements.

To meet the new dexos™1 demands, individual formulations have to be qualified and approved by GM according to a rigorous test protocol, reviewed and audited by GM, each viscosity grade being defined by a specific approved composition that exactly matches the tested oil. HiTEC® 11183 has been qualified and approved according to these GM rules and offers approved formulations in SAE 0W-20, 5W-20, and 5W-30 grades in select industry base oil combinations.
