Afton has several different classes of emulsifiers which include Natural Sulphonates, Amides and Succinate chemistries, which are often used in combination to achieve emulsion stability. Afton will work with you to select the most suitable emulsifier for your situation
Amides are considers as secondary emulsifiers and very effective at low concentrations for improving the corrosion performance and the lubricity of emulsions
Natural Sulphonates are primary emulsifiers and offer the benefit of improved corrosion protection and low foam characteristics
Succinate products are primary emulsifiers and have the advantage of not containing sulfur as a component and therefore these class of emulsfiers are less succeptable to biological attack when compared to sulphonates
